Gerber Sizzles at 2015 SHOT Show

2015 SHOT show.  In a word, WOW.

In the show's second-largest event ever Gerber shined bright with a bustling booth, stacked meeting rooms and a palpable buzz on the show floor. From the start buyers, media, partners and friends flocked to the booth the check out the latest and greatest gear from Gerber and as usual the brand did not disappoint.  The highlights were many but here are a few....

Gray's Sporting Journal editor Steve Walburn presenting Gerber and CEO Rob Kass with a 'Gray's Best' award for the iconic Legend Knife.

U.S. Army Ranger, MMA star, Gerber ally and all around bad dude Tim Kennedy dropped by the booth to help with an charity auction, meet some fans and continue his support of the Gerber brand.

Press accolades abounded too, including key call outs in the SHOT Daily and videos straight from the show floor, making the 2015 SHOT show one of our best ever. The dust from SHOT may still be settling the foundation of Gerber has never been stronger!

 

Gerber Welcomes New President Rob Kass

It's with great pride and excitement that Gerber welcomed Rob Kass as its new company president this month. Kass has years of experience leading business units and marketing for top-echelon companies, including American Standard, Black & Decker and Elkay Manufacturing Company. The media was quick to help spread the word....

The Gear Junkie Revisits an Old Friend - the Gerber Shard

Most often our friends in the media want the latest and greatest gear exclusively. "Oh that piece has been out a week and a half? What have you done lately?"  But every so often they'll reach back to the well for a tried and true product that touched a nerve or just makes sense.

Such was the case this month with the Gear Junkie, a renowned and nationally syndicated gear, travel and adventure blog, who revisited a Gerber favorite of theirs - the Shard.

Credited as bringing more to the table than meets the eye, the Shard proved "really handy" performing well in a variety of tasks from opening packages, breaking down cardboard boxes, removing staples, tightening rifle sights and, of course, open bottles of beer.

That's a lot of functionality for around $7 and proves that innovation CAN come in small packages.

Gerber Lauches Online Retail Associate Training Program with 3point5

Good news! We’ve partnered with 3point5, the online retail associate training program to better educate store level associates on our brand and product features. It’s a win/win initiative…we’re able to spread the word about Gerber and, after completing a series of short quizzes, store associates receive a deep discount on cool Gerber gear.

Gerber Cage Fighter Televised Tonight on Versus!

WEC (World Extreme Cagefighting) Fighter Brian Bowles (6-0) will don the Gerber name as he takes on Will Ribeiro Wednesday night on Versus. Check your local listings for fight times - and look for the Gerber brand on Brian's team shirts, banner and his fight shorts! The fight is televised free and includes an actoin packed card.

With a win tonight, Brian Bowles is in title contention!

Walking the SHOT show floor is work…really! True, you do feel like a kid in a candy store, but pounding across a concrete floor for four days beats you up. It’s always refreshing, then, when you run into someone like Jason Kintzler, the talented communications manager for Brunton-Gerber. “Jay, you absolutely have to come to my booth and check out our new riflescopes,” he said. “The Echo line will just blow you away—they’re on a par with our Epoch binoculars.” (The Epoch won the F&S Best of the Best award last year in optics.) So I went to the booth and, while Jason gushed over the new scopes, I took a look. It’s hard to judge optics in a convention hall, but from the looks of things, Brunton’s new Echo scopes are the real deal. Five Echos are in the line so far—a 6-24x50, 3.5-10x50, 3-9x40, 1.5-6x40, and 1.5-5x20. They’re all incredibly fast focusing, have good eye relief, and are, of course, water, fog, and shockproof. Prices range from $149 to $330.
