In what may be the understatement of the month, yesterday was a VERY good day for the new Ultimate Knife. Buzz has been building since its launch at Outdoor Retailer, with retail partners, media and fans clamoring to know more. Now they have their wish.
Not one, but two top-tier websites posted news of the Ultimate Knife yesterday and the ripple effect felt on the web was immediate.
To begin, Uncrate.com, a popular men's lifestyle site, broke the news yesterday morning and immediately over 200 readers redirected and shared the link via their social media channels.
That said, Gizmodo.com, a leading website dedicated to gadgets, gizmos and cutting-edge consumer products really broke the news wide open last night.
News of the Ultimate Knife was posted around 7pm and since then over 52,000 unique viewers (yes, you read that right) focused their eyes on the knife and the Gerber brand. Again there was a robust social media push behind the post with over 500 readers posting to Facebook, 300 readers commenting and another 100+ tweeting the news.
